Trad on the Prom
Ireland's Number 1 music, song and dance experience. Now in it's Seventh Consecutive Season,Trad on the Prom retains its position as a show that captivates audiences. ‘The Chieftains’, ‘Lord of the Dance’ and ‘Feet of Flames’ have now gathered together on ONE STAGE for an unforgettable entertainment experience in the City of the Tribes. This spectacular celebration of Irish Culture at its best transcends language barriers with its unique blend of world class Irish Music, Song and Dance. It showcases the amazing talents of Máirin Fahy and her world-class band. Máirin was the featured soloist with Riverdance in 1996 and is a regular guest with The Chieftains. She is joined by a host of special guests: Gerard Fahy, musician / director of Lord of the Dance: Mark Roberts, Eurovision star and leading song writer: Yvonne McMahon, singer with The Chieftains: Sean Costello, multi aims award winner and world - champion dancer: Cian Nolan.

International Quilt Festival
Intarnational Quilt Festival of Ireland will be located on the beautiful NUI campus in Galway, Ireland, where we are designing a special Quilter’s Village on the banks of the River Corrib. Here you’ll be able to walk around and enjoy all the special attractions this village has to offer. There will be a Quilter’s Market where you can buy everything from Irish crafts to traditional Irish Brown Bread, the Fat Quarters Chocolate Shop, a School House for our hands-on quilting classes, a Quilter's Canteen that seats over 800 people, over a dozen special quilt exhibits on display in various buildings throughout the village, and the Town Hall, where you will find over 50 vendors who have created booths to tease you with their latest state-of-the-art products and services!

Galway Bike Festival
Galway Bike Festival runs from the 18th to the 26th of June. Galway city will host the new Festival with a week-long programme of cycling events for all age groups throughout the city. This year promises to be a spectacular event, with a huge launch in Eyre Square on the 18th of June, with music, fun games and lots and lots of bicycles. The national bike week event launch is being celebrated in Galway- the first time any city outside of Dublin has hosted this opening event.

Volvo Ocean Race
3 - 10 July Galway to be the finish port of Volve Ocean Race 2011-2012
From Alicante to Galway. The 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race started with the In-Port Race on 29 October in Alicante, Spain and the route will go to Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Sanya, Auckland and on to Itajaí. Next stop is Miami and then across the Atlantic to Lisbon followed by Lorient and Galway.

The 2012 Galway Arts Festival takes place from 16th - 29th July Every July, Galway serves up two weeks of the best in Irish and International theatre, music, literature, dance, visual arts, comedy, street spectacle and children's events. Galway Arts Festival is Ireland's biggest and best known international arts festival. Since 1978 it has grown into an event with a worldwide reputation. In 2010, 158,000 people attended 273 performances, talks and exhibitions over the 14 days of the festival.

Galway Americana Festival
Galway Americana Festival 13th - 16th September 2012 The title of this years festival is 'Go Wild In The West!' which involves a series of gigs and sessions in a variety of venues in the most happening part of Galway town; the West End!
The festival will feature a genuine Americana legend in the form of Jim Rooney, who apart from being a leading industry figure in Nashville is also somewhat of a local hero, having spent much of his time over the last decade or so here and hereabouts, primarily in Ballindereen, Co Galway. In general Ireland's appetite for Americana has grown in recent years, and has given rise to an increasing number of bands who are interested in exploring the musical relationship and mutual heritage of Ireland and America.
